Instructions

Instructions for use of Waterproof Wound Dressing

1. Preparation

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Clean the wound area with antiseptic or saline solution and allow it to dry completely.
  • Ensure the skin around the wound is clean, dry, and free of oils or lotions.

2. Application

  • Remove the dressing from its sterile packaging.
  • If the dressing has a protective film, carefully peel off one side.
  • Place the adhesive side of the dressing over the wound, ensuring full coverage.
  • Smooth out the dressing to remove air bubbles and secure adhesion.
  • If the dressing has additional protective backing, peel it off gently.

3. Wearing the Dressing

  • Avoid excessive stretching when applying the dressing to prevent discomfort.
  • The dressing is waterproof and can stay in place while showering or bathing.
  • Check the edges periodically to ensure it remains sealed.

4. Removal

  • Carefully peel off the dressing from one corner.
  • Slowly pull it back over itself rather than away from the skin to minimize pain.
  • If resistance is felt, use warm water or medical adhesive remover to ease removal.

5. Precautions

  • Do not use on infected wounds unless directed by a healthcare provider.
  • If irritation, redness, or excessive moisture appears under the dressing, remove it and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Change the dressing as instructed, typically every 1–3 days or if it becomes loose or dirty.
