Instructions

Instructions for using Foam Underwrap Tape

Foam Underwrap Tape is typically used in sports and medical settings for protection and support.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use it:

Materials Needed

  • Foam Underwrap Tape
  • Athletic tape (optional)
  • Scissors (if needed)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Area: Clean and dry the area where you plan to apply the tape. If you are wrapping an ankle, wrist, or another joint, ensure that the area is free of any dirt or oils for better adhesion.
  • Cut the Foam Underwrap Tape: If you need smaller pieces, use scissors to cut the foam tape to the desired length. For larger areas, you can unroll the foam tape directly from the roll.

Apply the Foam Underwrap

  • Start by applying the foam underwrap tape around the area you want to protect.
  • For ankles, wrists, or knees, wrap the foam tape directly around the body part.
  • If you're wrapping around a joint, try to overlap the edges slightly to ensure full coverage.
  • The foam underwrap is stretchy, so it should conform comfortably to the contours of the body.
  • Smooth Out Wrinkles: As you wrap the foam tape, ensure there are no wrinkles or folds. This ensures a smooth application and helps the tape stay in place.
  • Apply Additional Athletic Tape (Optional): If you plan to use additional athletic tape on top of the foam underwrap for extra support, go ahead and apply it now.
  • The foam underwrap serves as a base, protecting the skin from irritation while the athletic tape offers compression and stability.
  • Make sure to apply the athletic tape firmly, but not too tight to avoid cutting off circulation.
  • Check Comfort and Fit: After applying the foam underwrap and any other tape, check the fit. It should feel snug but not constricting. The foam tape should provide a soft layer of padding and protection.
  • Remove the Tape: When you’re done with your activity or treatment, gently remove the foam underwrap tape. The foam tape is usually easy to peel off, but be careful not to tug too hard on your skin.

Tips

  • Foam underwrap tape is meant for comfort and protection, not for holding down large amounts of weight or providing long-term support. If you need more substantial support, use additional layers of athletic tape over the foam.
  • It is breathable and designed to reduce skin irritation, so it's ideal for extended use during sports or physical activities.
  • Always use fresh tape to avoid poor adhesion or discomfort.
