Instructions

Instructions for use of Eye Plaster

Eye plasters are used to protect the eye, aid healing, or provide occlusion therapy for conditions like lazy eye (amblyopia).

Follow these steps for proper application and use:

1. Preparation

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Clean and dry the skin around the eye to ensure better adhesion.
  • If required, apply any prescribed eye drops or ointments before applying the plaster.

2. Application

  • Remove the eye plaster from its packaging.
  • If using for occlusion therapy (e.g., for lazy eye), ensure you are covering the correct eye as instructed by your doctor.
  • Gently close the eye (do not squeeze it shut).
  • Position the plaster over the eye, ensuring it fully covers it without touching the eyelashes.
  • Press the edges of the plaster firmly onto the skin for a secure fit.

3. Usage Guidelines

  • Wear the plaster for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
  • If the plaster becomes loose or wet, replace it with a new one.
  • Avoid touching or adjusting the plaster frequently to prevent irritation.

4. Removal

  • Gently peel off the plaster from one side to the other.
  • If the plaster sticks too much, use warm water or baby oil to loosen the adhesive.
  • Wash the skin after removal to remove any adhesive residue.

5. Additional Tips

  • If using for children, choose a hypoallergenic plaster to avoid skin irritation.
  • Store eye plasters in a cool, dry place.
  • Do not reuse plasters.

If you experience redness, swelling, or discomfort, consult a doctor immediately.
